Aromatherapy as a Healing Art
“When you enter the fragrant pharmacy a whole world of possibility is waiting for you.”

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for healing, both physical and emotional. It is as much an art as  it is a
beautiful science. It's about so much more than just the fragrance.

Essential oil healing goes far beyond just smell. The oil itself is the “blood” of the plant, providing the most
concentrated form of healing the plant can offer. Molecules from the oil are absorbed directly into the bloodstream
via the nasal membranes and/or the skin, and from there go to whatever part of the body requires healing (other
parts of the skin, mucus membranes, the endocrine system (to regulate hormones), organs (there are oils that
positively affect the liver, lungs, adrenals and heart) the blood (to affect circulation and help balance blood
pressure, for example), and more. Essential oils are 100 times more potent than the plant it comes from and
therefore only very small quantities (drops) are used to provide significant results.

Essential oils provide numerous healing benefits. They are: anti-viral (powerful cold/flu healers and preventors),
antiseptic (cleansing), anti-bacterial, fungicidal, analgesic (pain reliving), anti-inflammatory, anti-mucolytic
(decongestant) and more. They relieve physical pain and tensions, emotional stress and more, as they work on
both emotional and physical levels to heal. Essential oils can be uplifting, relaxing, stimulating. They have been
used for thousands of years, and book after book has been written about the seemingly unending qualities and
benefits of these precious oils.

At MoonWater, we use the highest quality essential oils, some of which are often sold diluted to reduce
the cost - but ours are not. The oils we use are pure and from the highest quality sources and are organic or
wildcrafted.
